Associate Director of Admissions for Operations

Job Description Summary:

This administrative position requires a combination of managerial, customer service and technology related experience. Work involves performing a wide variety of administrative functions for the office including supervision of the undergraduate processors and student workers. The position also involves some evening and weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.

Three years experience in the area of college admissions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, staff, counselors, faculty members, and others.

Thorough knowledge of admissions policies and procedures.

Strong communication and analytical skills.

Effective organization, time management, and human relations skills.

Ability to maintain accurate records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports.

Ability and willingness to travel as position dictates.

Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends, as needed.

Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master degree.

Experience with SCT Banner Student Information System.

Essential Duties Summary :

Supervises the undergraduate admissions operations unit monitoring close adherence to Board of Regents.

Administer institutional admissions policies and procedures.

Supervises all processors.

Serves as contact person and liaison for Liberty Center, and the Savannah State Exchange program admission processing.

Oversees undergraduate admissions decisions for the university.

Manages admissions data for Academic Data Mart (ADM) submission on a semester basis.

Ensures electronic admission applications/transcripts are downloaded on a timely basis.

Handles student concerns regarding admissions process and/or decisions. Exercises independent judgment concerning resolution of student concerns while acting within established policies and guidelines.

Monitors students admitted on a temporary admission status (transient, dual enrollment) and converts to permanent admission status at the appropriate time.

Works collaboratively with the Office of Academic Assistance to ensure correct placement of academic assistance students.

Supervises and trains student workers.

Works collaboratively with the Director of Admissions in connecting students to the University. Works with departmental contacts with questions regarding connectivity.

Serves as admissions residency officer.

Assists with Open House and Navigate as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned and appropriate.
