APPOINTMENT: March 1, 2014


RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary function of this position is to acquire underwriting support for Tri States Public Radio, renew that support from year to year and act as a liaison to the community at public and outreach events. This position is located at Tri States Public Radio in Galesburg, Illinois.

Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree and two years sales, marketing, fundraising or community outreach. A valid driver’s license and ability to drive a car is required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in non-profit fundraising and/or client relations.  Specific experience in dealing directly with donors and donor issues a plus. Ability to successfully design and manage projects in the not-for-profit fundraising and development work environment.  Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills.  Demonstrated desire to continually learn on the job and to function as part of an energetic, professional, and collegial member of a team in a fast-paced environment.  Understanding of and a strong commitment to the goals of public media.

THE DEPARTMENT: Tri States Public Radio is an outreach service of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Western Illinois University. We provide information and entertainment of the highest possible caliber to enrich and engage the public, enhance quality of life, and meet the diverse needs of people in our region and beyond. Tri States Public Radio serves west central Illinois, southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri with a mix of national and local public radio programming focused on news, classical, jazz and folk music.

Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).


WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,204): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, at its metropolitan, non-residential campuses in Moline, IL (population 44,000). The Quad Cities (population 376,000) rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and is comprised of Moline and Rock Island in western Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. Moline, Illinois is home to the Quad Cities International Airport.
