About the Program:
The successful candidate will work with a dynamic district English department while serving primarily at the education centers on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). The department plays a vital role within our Achieving the Dream framework to advance student retention and completion. Like the main campuses, Pierce College at JBLM offers a wide range of precollege and college-level composition, literature, and humanities courses that meet transfer university requirements, but tailored to meet the unique needs of active duty military personnel, their family members, and veteran students both in the classroom and online worldwide. English courses serve to prepare students in written communication for all of the academic pathways at Pierce College. As the sole full-time English/humanities faculty member for Pierce College at JBLM, this position also includes Faculty Coordinator duties for about 15 adjunct faculty teaching in these areas.
