Job Summary/Purpose:

Students in this position will assist the Admissions & Records Coordinator with general office duties, schedule recruitment visits and make presentations about COCC for local High schools and special events.

Job Location is on the Bend Campus.

Terms of Employment:
• This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position
• Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
•Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19
•Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate future student campus visits including weekly tours and group tours.
• Coordinate with local high schools for COCC visits and make presentations about COCC and meet with high school students and/or staff.
• Provide clerical support as needed for recruitment activities.
• Assist with recruitment and special events on-campus and off-campus.
• Acquaint high school students and any other interested individuals or groups with COCC’s programs and services.
• Assist with and make presentations from a student’s perspective at Parent Information Nights.
• Phone prospective students to follow-up on information requests and offer assistance.
• Assist in training new student ambassadors and maintaining tour schedule.
• Attend and occasionally lead bi-monthly ambassador meetings.
• Attend on-campus leadership training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Student be must detail oriented.
• Student must be able to relate to wide variety of people and have strong communication skills.
• Good spelling and keyboarding skills are necessary.
• Flexibility and prioritization necessary.
• Knowledge of and experience with filing and organization
• Experience with and have good computer skills.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Ability to do different tasks daily.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Computer screen is used more than 70 percent of the time. Must be able to climb or pull self-upward and guide, feeding materials into proper position. Able to crawl under desks to check cabling and able to carry supplies between campus buildings. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19.
• Must have had one year of experience as a student ambassador.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Good communication skills to communicate with staff.
• Must maintain 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Special Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of a personal computer.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and email.
