Job Summary/Purpose:

To assist the instructor in demonstrations, direct students in competency practice, perform check offs of students’ competencies.

Terms of Employment:
• This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Temporary Hourly/Non-Benefited position
• Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.

Essential Functions:

Laboratory Instruction:
• Set up for demonstrations and competencies prior to laboratory experiences
• Assist lab instructor during demonstrations or perform demonstrations
• Coordinate student mentoring with that of the Instructor during competency practice
• Grade Student Assignments and/or Competencies
• Manage the camera and computer operations during demonstration transmissions or direct others in their operations
• Provide support to instructor as needed, including lab, clinical, and others as requested.
• Direct students or perform tasks as needed, such as pharmacy lab techniques and their application in the classroom as well as in the clinical setting.

Materials & Supplies:
• Keep all materials and supplies in the pharmacy lab stocked
• Add materials that have reached the re-order point to the order list
• Keep lab organized (supply storage area, wall shelves, tubs, counters, drawers, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Pharmacy Technician experience in retail and/or hospital setting
2. Perform competency check offs in coordination with the Instructor
3. Experience with equipment use and maintenance in pharmacy technician lab
4. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Work is performed during regular working hours and in the Pharmacy Technician Lab. Mainly standing and walking during labs. Computer is used 10-20 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation .

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED
2. Computer literacy: experience with email, Internet, word processing, and spreadsheets (preferably experience with MS Office Suite products).
3. Familiarity with the Internet and internal E-Mail system (prefer knowledge of Outlook).
4. Accurate arithmetic, grammar, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.
5. Knowledge of standard office equipment and phones.
6. Experience with equipment use and maintenance in a pharmacy technician lab

Licenses: Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy license

Special Qualifications:

1. Customer Service experience.
2. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Certifications: CPhT or RPhT preferred
