Job Summary/Purpose:

Serve as a resource to all campus visitors for technology questions, computer usage and techniques.


Job Location is on the Madras Campus.


Terms of Employment:


• This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position
• Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
•Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19
•Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.


Essential Functions:

• Provide friendly customer service and assistance to students and patrons utilizing the computer lab
• Maintain security of lab equipment and facilities
• Assist computer lab users with a wide range of college & computer questions
• Assist with hardware/software maintenance and clerical duties
• Facilitate the smooth operation of the computer lab: keep the lab clean and report machine and software problems
• Attend department meetings and or trainings
• Perform other duties as assigned as they pertain to the overall objective of the position

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under 20 pounds may occur. Working hours are regular per the established work schedule. Computer screen is used more than 50 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Special Qualifications:

• Have taken (or currently enrolled) in one or more classes at the Madras campus
• Have completed CIS 120 as part of your COCC course work
