Job Summary/Purpose:

Assist/support of the Public Safety Office Coordinator. This position will assist with general office duties, which will be mostly clerical duties and answering phones and radio communication with officers.


Terms of Employment:
• This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position
• Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
•Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19
•Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.


Job Location is on the Bend Campus.


Essential Functions:

• Enter parking citation data into Banner.
• Assist in answering phones and dispatching calls for service during busy times.
• Calling in vehicle information to OMV.
• Data entry for citation appeals and incident reports.
• Administrative/ miscellaneous task of the environmental safety program.
• Filing of the above mentioned paperwork and citation booklets.
• Other assisting duties as operational tempo necessitates.
• Must be fluent with computers and have accuracy in data entry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of and experience with filing and organization
• Experience with and have good computer skills.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Ability to do different tasks daily.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Computer screen is used more than 75 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Special Qualifications:

• Enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Computer Literacy: Training in, or experience with, email, internet, word processing, and spreadsheets(preferably experience with MS Office Suite Products).
