Job Summary/Purpose:

To provide support for the Career Services, Academic Advising, Personal Counseling, and Placement in CAP Services.


Terms of Employment:
• This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position
• Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
•Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19
•Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.


Job Location is on the Bend Campus.


Essential Functions:

1. Assist with special project assignments: organize, prioritize and carry out routine assignments for Academic Advisors, Career Services Coordinator, and Placement Coordinator. Work with supervisor to develop an evolving system for directing ongoing office processes and special projects with a project management focus.
2. Assist students or visitors in various student service areas: answering basic questions and explaining available resources; assisting in locating activities or materials; organizing materials; light typing; answering telephone; and filing. Outreach to campus regarding important deadlines. Additional related duties as assigned.
3. General office support: perform general office duties such as copying, campus delivery, event set-up and breakdown, managing office bulletin boards and lobby area, compiling of materials, data entry, inventorying and ordering documents and brochures, use of standard office equipment such as phone and copier. Additional duties as assigned.
4. Placement and Career Services Support: Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
5. Follow FERPA guidelines and protocols
6. Various projects and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be able to manage time, prioritize and organize tasks and projects, and perform work without constant supervision and within a “team environment.” Must be able to take direction from campus Administrators and work study supervisor.
2. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English Language with or without the use of an interpreter.
3. Must be able to work with a diverse population and to interface with College staff and the public effectively and diplomatically, both in person and on the telephone.
4. Must be able to navigate the campus and perform outreach duties as requested.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Computer screen is used more than 75 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Strong Customer Service Skills
3. Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2018-19.
4. Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid.
