Tenure Track Faculty Position
Department of Computer Sciences
St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Computer Sciences, to begin in August 2017. Candidates should have the interest and ability to teach the full range of undergraduate courses from general education to upper level. Appointment at Associate or Full Professor will be considered commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Duties include teaching three to four courses per semester and working with students on research projects in a variety of computer science areas. Courses taught will depend on the background and interest of the candidate as well as the needs of the department. Responsibilities include scholarly activities appropriate for undergraduate computer science programs, academic advising, and service to the university, school, and department. Other required faculty duties as specified in the Faculty Manual.
Ph.D. in computer science or closely related field, with preference for candidates with the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses. Candidates should demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates with the ability to direct a broad range of independent undergraduate projects will be given preference. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to a global perspective and serving a diverse student body. Successful completion of an employment and criminal history background check is required.
