|Job Summary|| |
The Surgical Dental Assistant will assist faculty and residents of the Pediatric and Adult (GPR) Dentistry programs. Duties will include assisting patient schedules by utilizing four-handed/chair side and expanded-duty dental assisting skills; helping with oral and I.V. sedation.
The position will be trained to work in the Center for Advanced Surgery center, assisting with dental procedures performed under general anesthesia; assisting with patients who are medically, mentally, and physically complex which may require the use of restraints, special devices, and patient management techniques.
|Skills / Knowledge / Abilities|| |
Experience as a dental assistant in general and/or pediatric dentistry; radiation safety certificate, knowledge of proper infection control techniques in dentistry.

|Preferred Education/Experience|| |
Expanded duties certificate; coronal polishing certificate; experience assisting with sedation and working in the operating room environment; knowledge of implant procedures is desirable.
