Dr. Meghan Marsac is currently recruiting research assistants to join her lab. The focus of Dr. Marsac’s research is on promoting adjustment and preventing posttraumatic stress in children with medical conditions and their parents. Current projects include 1) interviewing families who have lost a child to a medical condition regarding communication during end-of-life care, 2) developing, evaluating, and disseminating a tool to promote positive coping and adjustment in children with injuries or gastrointestinal conditions, 3) secondary analysis of data to explain the impact of parent-child interaction on child recovery from injury, and 4) validation of a new pain assessment tool. RAs will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of research activities to develop and/or refine research skills. Opportunities include study recruitment (basic and clinical research requiring interaction with children and parents), conducting literature reviews, IRB preparations, preparation of study materials, data management, basic data analyses, supporting grant application preparation, and exposure to abstracts/presentations/manuscript preparation. Undergraduate or graduate students are welcome.
