Senior Director of Enterprise Applications & Integrations

Bachelor's Degree. Nine years of full-time increasingly complex IT management and leadership experience. Experience supervising, coaching, and mentoring information technology professionals. Demonstrated experience working, collaborating, and establishing credibility and relationships with senior leadership, colleagues, and customers.
Advanced Degree. IT management and leadership experience within a Higher-Education environment.Demonstrated experience with leading and managing enterprise resource planning (ERP) operations in a higher education environment. Demonstrated experience with leading and managing identity and access management services in a higher education environment. Knowledge and experience with providing enterprise data analytics infrastructure services. Experience with successfully managing large teams, complex projects and budgets.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Director for Enterprise Applications and Integrations serves as a member of the Division of Information Technology's (DoIT) Senior Leadership Team which is charged with providing strategic direction and priorities for the Division. The incumbent leads, directs, and manages the DoIT areas responsible for: enterprise resource planning (ERP) services and administrative applications; identity and access management services; and, enterprise database management services. Leads, directs, and manages the design and development of enterprise applications and integrations. Support the Division's growth, while progressively challenging and rethinking business processes. The incumbent manages departmental change; provides leadership and strategic direction to the various functional teams to improve processes.
Under the general direction of the Vice President for IT and Chief Information Officer (VP/CIO), this position works collaboratively with colleagues and customers to provide relevant services to the Stony Brook University community focused on the customer experience.
Incumbent must possess the following: Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems and make effective decisions. Experience successfully building consensus among a large number of diverse colleagues, senior leadership and outside agencies to address and resolve issues. Documented ability accomplishing major tasks and assignments with and through others. Excellent customer service skills.
Under the general direction of the VP/CIO, provide vision and strategic direction in the areas within this position's portfolio. Participate in strategic planning and development of annual goals and objectives for DoIT, with special attention to providing leadership for those related to the areas within this position's portfolio. Serve as a member of the DoIT Senior Leadership Team to work toward the achievement of division goals and objectives. Ensure delivery of a suite of highly aligned services including superior customer experience and support for external and internal customers.
Teaching, Learning and Technology Oversight:
Policies: Determine, formulate and administer management policies and practices for providing critical campus-wide student information, human resources, and financial services.
Budget Management: Manage the budgets, with responsibility for projecting, developing, administering, and reconciling the budgets consistent with campus and organizational goals. Provide annual operating plan including annual budget. The incumbent will have signatory authority and the ability to apply for external funding to support innovative programs as needed.
Lead the Enterprise Applications & Integrations group responsible for strategy, software engineering, and maintenance for University enterprise wide applications and services, which includes but not limited to the following:
- Enterprise Resource Planning system (Human Capital Management, Finance Management, Resource Planning, and Student Information System/SOLAR)
- Enterprise Data Analytics group responsible for designing and building the data analytics infrastructure from which the University mines for compliance, accountability and success initiatives
- Application Integration
- Identity and Access Management Services;
- Enterprise Database Management, the backend infrastructure where all university data is organized and stored
- Ensure superior customer experience and support for external and internal customers
Oversee and manage the Enterprise Applications and Integration team. Develop and implement appropriate professional development and training programs for direct reports. Ensure all employees in this position's portfolio have development and training plans.
Outreach and Professional Development:
Participate, as appropriate, in internal and external professional activities, such as an author, committee member, search chair, meeting or conference presenter, staying abreast of emerging developments within the fields.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.
Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed. Positions that are designated as such are required to report to work/remain at work even if classes are cancelled, and the campus is working on limited operations in an emergency. Weekend work may be required.
