Work Week: This is a ten-month (175-day) faculty position eligible for tenure after the fourth year of successful employment.
Minimum Salary: $69,813.80 annually
Maximum Salary: $120,844.64 annually (maximum entry $85,525.04 per year)
Medical, dental and employee assistance plans are offered for the employee and dependents. The District also provides life insurance plans for the employee, as well as an 8.25% contribution to the State Teacher’s Retirement plan. Additional types of insurance may be purchased with pre-tax dollars through an IRS 125 flexible benefit program.

The successful applicant for the library position is expected to provide a wide range of reference and information services including but not limited to providing library instruction in a variety of settings; using current and emerging technology in reference and instruction duties; developing and maintaining the Library's electronic and print collection; instruct students in credit courses; develop, coordinate and assess library instruction and information competency programs for students and faculty; develop and coordinate programs to promote library resources and services to students. The assignment will be made based on the successful applicant's experience, background, and institutional need.
This assignment may include working at other campus sites, day, evening, weekend classes, using distance learning or using other multiple teaching methodologies.
Other Duties Include: participating in student recruitment and articulation of services, maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computers and multimedia technologies; assessing student learning and program level outcomes; collegial participation in department, college, and discipline specific professional activities.
Education and Experience:
Master’s in library science, or library and information science;
OR- The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form. Supporting documents must be included with the completed form.
AND- A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
Note:- Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.

Ability to effectively work with students with a wide range of skills, motivation, and academic or vocational goals
Ability to develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
Ability to assess student learning outcomes
Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency
Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program
Knowledge of and commitment to the California Community College mission
Ability and willingness to participate effectively in college committee work and in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to support students and the college
Ability to provide leadership within the program and on college initiatives to improve student learning
