Assistant/Associate Professor in Digital Media

St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track position in Interactive Games Studies and Digital Media Management to begin in August 2014. The position on the faculty of the School of Management and Business will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with salary depending on qualifications and experience. Teaching responsibility will be in both the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Digital Media, with primary specialization in interactive games design.
Teach four courses per semester, two semesters per year as part of the Interactive Games Management [BBA -IGMT] and Interactive Games Studies [BA-IGST] degrees offered through the Digital Media Department. (Course topics include Game Design I and Lab, Game Design II and Lab, Digital Interactive Technology, Digital Media Production Planning, Introduction to Digital Music and Audio, Computer Graphics and Animation and The Business of Gaming.) Develop new courses and curriculum as needed. Continue expertise in teaching areas and graduate pedagogy. Continue record of research and publications/presentations. Participate in School of Management and Business and university projects, events, and committee work. Work with colleagues on assessment of learning outcomes and on recruitment and retention of students. Fulfill other required faculty responsibilities as outlined in the St. Edward's University Faculty Manual
PhD or other appropriate terminal academic degree in or complimentary to Interactive Games Design Substantial and progressively responsible industry and/or consulting experience required Prior teaching experience and course design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels preferred. Record of scholarly research and publications/presentations preferred Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required
