The University of Nevada, Reno Cooperative Extension, Southern Area, is recruiting for an IT Technician 2 for the IT department. The position will be located in Las Vegas, NV. The incumbent will be responsible for computer trouble shooting, assisting staff with printer hook ups, retrieving digital files, email issues and formatting files, classroom and meeting room set up (projectors, lap tops, computers etc.), inventory and general technical maintenance of agency equipment. Other duties include assisting IT Professionals with more complex IT assignments and projects, taking and keeping inventory, logging and maintaining information, linking equipment with the proper end user and other related duties as assigned.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position requires working a flexible schedule to include occasional evenings and weekends; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of experience utilizing the fundamentals of typical computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals, one year of which must have included IT work experience in a user support role; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience in formatting desktop computers and laptops Experience with interactive video systems (such as Polycom)
