INSTRUCTOR OF SPANISH
Department: English & Modern Languages
Teach the first and second year sequence in undergraduate Spanish. Course load is four three-hour courses per semester on a nine month renewable contract.
Candidates should be committed to proficiency-oriented standards-based language instruction and be very familiar with using ACTFL guidelines for assessing communicative competence as well as cultural competence. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside of the classroom. The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences, particularly using technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching; strong background in and commitment to communicative foreign language teaching; professional development commensurate with experience.
M.A. or Ph. D. in Spanish or related fields required. Demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching; strong background in and commitment to communicative foreign language teaching.
