FULL-TIME Clerk IV - ACADEMIC ADVISING: (Haverhill Campus and occasionally on the Lawrence Campus) 37.5 hours per week Monday –Thursday 11:00 PM–7:00 PM; Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; and some occasional Saturdays during the summer months 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. As necessary, on a periodic basis, the individual appointed to this position will be required to adjust work schedule for coverage. This is an AFSCME unit position.
Assist the academic advising staff and others with the day-to-day operation of the Career Planning and Advising Centers. The primary duties of this position are to receive and make office related telephone calls; greet and direct students to appropriate staff and service areas; prepare reports and correspondence related to academic advising duties and projects; perform data entry for registration and statistical reports; pre-screen students before they meet with advisors; print transcripts and assessment results for students; maintain and update a variety of printed materials including program audit forms; insure all forms related to academic advising are in stock; maintain all areas where students meet with advisors; responsible for posting event flyers. The staff member will be expected to assist the Dean of Academic Advising, Articulation, Transfer, Testing and TRiO with special projects and the accompanying reports, as well as perform other duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the Dean.
A minimum of 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office work required. Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; have the ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person with a variety of people; must be dependable, energetic, adaptable and flexible; possess organizational and office skills; have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point), must have strong technical skills, as well as fundamental office practices, procedures and equipment; must have experience with SCT Banner or related Student Management System. Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) is a strong preference. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
Salary: Salary range is $663.76 to $899.16 per week or $34,515.52 to $46,756.32 annually with fringe benefits. An appointment from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step I of the range.
