FACULTY POSITION IN COMPOSITION/COMMUNICATION

POSITION                               


Tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Composition and Communication; begins August 2013.


 RESPONSIBILITIES     


Primarily responsible for teaching first-year writing, college Composition I and II, and upper-level undergraduate communication courses such as Technical Communication, Visual Media, Intercultural Communication, and Script Writing.  May also be responsible for internships and special projects oversight.  Other duties include advising and mentoring students, program assessment, college service, scholarship, and professional development. Further requirements include a commitment to technical education, use of engaging pedagogies, willingness to engage in collaborative and/or interdisciplinary efforts and a willingness to teach in multiple modes such as hybrid and on-line courses.


QUALIFICATIONS                   


 


Earned Doctorate required in English, Rhetoric, or Communication, or a closely related, relevant discipline.  Successful teaching experience in undergraduate level courses and teaching experience with students from culturally and academically diverse backgrounds are preferred.
