The Executive Director of the Office of the President and Coordinator of Strategic Initiatives reports to Skidmore’s President. It is a position of visibility that will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, blending long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. The Executive Director will support the President on a wide range of important institutional matters including assisting with project planning, strategic initiatives, presidential communications and campus priorities. It will oversee the operations of the President’s office including the management of budget and staff.

This position requires a very special professional, an individual who is highly collaborative, with outstanding diplomatic, analytical and organizational skills. Further, it requires superb oral and written communication skills, critical thinking capability and attentiveness to detail.

Additionally, it requires a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience that involves office management and the development of systems and procedures. Significant experience working in a college or university setting is strongly preferred. A proven ability to work with diverse individuals is essential. A bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s degree or other advanced academic or professional degree preferred.
