The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) seeks a Director of Research with strong management experience, organizational skills, and research expertise to lead PPIC’s multidisciplinary research staff. This position will play a critical role in producing and delivering high quality, relevant, and timely research for state policy audiences. The Director of Research will oversee all research projects and contribute to one or more of PPIC’s priority areas; he or she will serve as leader, mentor, and colleague for the research staff. Applicants for this position should have a Ph.D. in economics, political science, public policy, sociology or a related field with a track record of rigorous research, five or more years of experience in a senior research leadership position, and a successful record of managing people, projects, and grants in a policy research setting.
