James Madison College, Michigan State University, offers sophisticated multidisciplinary programs in the social sciences founded on a model of liberal education and designed to prepare students for law school, graduate study, decision-making roles in public and private enterprise, and careers in government, media, politics, social services, public administration, education, business, industry, and foreign service.

The Director of Diversity Programming and Student Engagement serves a key role in the College through initiatives in student programming, academic advising, student recruitment and networking within the College, across the University and with external constituencies, while teaching the college’s Freshmen Success Seminar. Assist with recruitment and retention of students who, by virtue of experience, background or culture, contribute to diversity in the College, mentor and serve as a resource to undergraduate students, staff and faculty. Advise leadership, faculty, staff and students in the College on issues of diversity and inclusion, design programming workshops, and recognition days to promote diversity in the College, speak to various external constituencies, such as high school counselors, parents, and alumni about the College and its activities to promote inclusion, participate in outreach and undergraduate presentations.
