The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Grand Valley State University seeks highly qualified candidates for the Director of our Academic Advising Center. This full-time Administrative Professional position to begin May 2017. Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is a comprehensive, state-supported university of 25,000+ students with a commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education through excellence in teaching and active scholarship in the classroom and research laboratory.  The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the largest college at the university and the Director is the leader for the university’s largest advising center. 

Responsibilities:  Provide outstanding leadership for the day-to-day management of the CLAS Academic Advising Center and coordination of advising and student services within the college.  See additional job responsibilities online at the Required qualifications:  master’s degree, preferably in an academic advising related field; a minimum of eight years in higher education; exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; successful experience working with and an understanding of underrepresented and diverse populations; a strong understanding of and demonstrated desire for collaborative approaches to problem solving; demonstrated experience in supervising the work of others.  Salary:  $64,000-$70,000  To apply:  ONLINE ONLY at  Include a cover letter, resume or CV and three references.  Application deadline:  To receive full consideration, applications should be submitted by February 17.
