Job Description:
The Office of Statewide Initiatives at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is seeking a Coordinator, Admissions & Recruitment for the Physician Assistant Studies Program. The successful candidate will assist the program director and core faculty in the recruitment, matriculation, and graduation of physician assistants ready to join the healthcare workforce. Responsibilities include oversight and management of the student recruitment and admissions processes, and serve as first point of contact for prospective students. Student Affairs responsibilities include oversight and management of student records, monitor ongoing academic progress in concert with core faculty and facilitate assistance resources as necessary. The Coordinator will serve on the program leadership committee and will provide regular reports to the advisory council, student progress committee, and the admissions committee.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal oversight, and a demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems.

This position requires occasional travel in and out of state as well as working a variable work schedule, to include some nights and weekends.

Reno is only 45 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe and the Sierra and in proximity to California including Sacramento, Napa Valley and San Francisco. Reno has a favorable quality of life and provides an array of arts and cultural events and many outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, skiing, fishing and boating.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; or Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.Related experience: student admissions and recruitment; student and community outreach; student affairs; higher education administration; event planning; and/or process improvement.This position requires having a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
