Job Description

Associate Dean and Director of Pre-Health Program, Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences

Duties include extensive undergraduate student advising; supervision, interpretation, implementation, and enforcement of College academic policies and regulations, participation in the academic standing review process as well as College policy committees; responsibility for selected Dean's office programs; interaction with faculty, staff, students, and families; collaboration with other associate and assistant deans and university administrative offices; other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College.

The Associate Dean will also serve as Director of the Pre-Health Program. As Director, she/he will report to the Dean of the College and work with the Chair of the Pre-Health faculty advising committee to design, coordinate, and oversee a pre-health advising program for the university, serving current students and alumni; maintain close working relationship with health professions schools admissions deans; coordinate and oversee the work of two full-time Pre-Health advisors, work with the Chair of the faculty committee to oversee the recommendation process and take primary responsibility for final editing of the letters of recommendation for medical school and other health-professions school applicants.Requirements

Requires Ph.D. with a strong preference for a natural science discipline. Three years administrative experience and an interest in working with undergraduates interested in the health professions. Teaching, advising, and research experience preferred.
