The primary focus is to develop and teach online courses in Guidance and Counseling. Other graduate courses may be assigned in areas of Curriculum and Ed Leadership as the faculty member's experience and qualifications warrant.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
Department: Curriculum and Instruction
Typical duties include, but are not limited to, developing and teaching online courses, use of Blackboard as the Learning Management System, maintaining on-campus office hours, recruiting, academic advising, research, and service. The faculty member will serve on several departmental, college, and university committees.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate will have a strong educational technology background. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Blackboard are essential to the job. Some travel is required.
An earned doctorate related to counselor education, a Texas School Counselor Certificate. Three or more year's classroom teaching experience, and two or more years experience as a School Counselor.
Experience as a District Test Coordinator, or Curriculum Specialist, as well as a background in Field Service Supervision. Experience as an online instructor at an institution of higher education using Blackboard as the LMS.
Other Information: This faculty position is at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. The faculty member MUST be in residence. This is not a Distance Education position.
