Western Nevada College, located in Carson City, Nevada, is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 4 in Disability Support Services to assist students in selecting a degree or certificate program. This position assists in the planning and execution of programs and events that increase student engagement, assists in recruiting, hiring and training eligible students. This position also conducts community outreach events.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Carson/Tahoe Area: Located just a 4 hour drive from San Francisco, the Carson/Tahoe area is one of the country's outdoor meccas. Within less than an hour and a half drive you will find several famous winter sports resorts (such as Squaw Valley, the host of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games) and hundreds of mountain biking and hiking trails (including the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail) for your enjoyment during the winter and summer months. The region offers an array of festivals and cultural activities including museums and performing arts centers. Additionally, the area attracts world class entertainers.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowlege of the ADA/ADAAA• Experience working with individuals who have disabilities• Experience with Assistive technology (i.e., alternative media, software programs such as Premier AT (text to speech), Dragon (speech to text), JAWS, Duxbury, Livescribe smart pens, Braille production, FM systems, etc.
