Job Description:
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Office of Sponsored Projects. The Administrative Assistant 3 will provide administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for Research Administration and other faculty and staff in the department by coordinating and managing the office workflow, researching information, preparing documents and correspondence, organizing meetings, maintaining calendars, handling adhoc requests and special projects, and other duties as assigned.

This position will perform general administrative duties for the Office of Sponsored Projects, such as reception, routing incoming and outgoing mail, proposals, awards and sub-awards, preparing self-supporting budgets, maintaining department supplies and purchasing records, preparing semi-monthly purchasing card statements, assisting in preparation of department personnel travel arrangement and documentation, and other special projects using different kinds of software applications to develop forms, databases, etc.

This position trains and supervises student workers.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is designated as Essential Personnel.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Experience Requirements: This position requires having a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
