Western Nevada College is recruiting for a part-time (80% FTE) Administrative Assistant for the Nursing and Allied Health Division in Carson. This position reports to the Nursing and Allied Health Division and will support the Grant manager and the students and faculty in the Certified Nursing Assistant courses. The incumbent will also work with external and internal customers to ensure that documentation is complete, track and report course completion and CNA certifications, educate students with regard to the admission requirements, maintain and update CNA faculty employee files, schedule, coordinate, and manage campus/outreach events, coordinate tests dates, and perform other duties as assigned.
The typical work schedule is 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
This position is a funded project ending 03/31/2018.
This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Experience Requirements:• This position requires experience using Microsoft Word in a business setting.• This position requires experience using Microsoft Excel in a business setting.
