The Nevada System of Higher Education is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the NSHE System Administration in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Administrative Assistant 2 is often the first point of contact for the Nevada System of Higher Education executive office and is expected to provide excellent customer service. The incumbent will perform a variety of support functions to ensure smooth operations of the NSHE System Administration reception area. The incumbent will attend to visitors, guests or general public by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately. The incumbent is responsible for answering, screening and forwarding any incoming calls while providing basic information when necessary. The incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Experience Requirements:• Strong customer service experience.• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Scheduling experience using the software, Renovo.• Experience using multi-line phone systems.
