The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 - Compliance Specialist for Northern Nevada International Center's Refugee Resettlement program. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing a broad array of eligibility issues for refugees under the Wilson-Fish Office for Refugee Resettlement (ORR) program, such as eligibility for Refugee Cash Assistance, providing quality assurance for Case Manager files, and monitoring refugee assistance financial transactions.
This position will also assist with scheduling interpretation services, ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, and other state and federal requirements refugees must comply with.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Experience Requirements:• Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.• Must have experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
• Foreign travel or experience in a multi-cultural environment is helpful.• Fluency in one or more languages other than English is a plus.
