The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part-time (53% FTE) Administrative Assistant 2 - Preparator for the Department of Art. The Preparator performs all duties related to exhibition preparation, including but not limited to, installation, de-installation, packing, shipping, and receiving artwork and coordination of necessary staff and materials. Work includes but is not limited to, exhibition design and construction. Additional responsibility is assigned for caring for the collection including framing, condition reporting, and moving and installing objects from the permanent collection.
The typical work schedule is varied to include occasional nights and weekends; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Experience Requirements:•Experience in the following areas: installation, exhibit design, construction and/or moving and installing objects.•This position requires having a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Knowledge of using framing tools including saws and other industry specific power tools; light meters; climate monitoring tools.
