The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Accounting Assistant 2 for the Controller's Office. This position will be responsible for:
Payments to Vendors
Sort incoming mail by groups each working day. These groups should consist of invoices that are to be paid against a purchase order, invoices that go over to purchasing card team, invoices that are attached to request for payments and invoices that require further investigation.
Review pending file(s) for receipt of requested information: If necessary, work with Business Center North Purchasing to resolve purchase order problems. Email AP Manager regarding status of problems. Data input of Transfer Vouchers.
Customer services and miscellaneous office duties: Answer phones during assigned back-up times and as needed. Provide assistance to vendors, students, faculty and staff either on the telephone or in person. Assist departments with questions regarding the appropriate accounting forms to use. Assist AP Manager in other duties as assigned.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical accounting experience which must have included duties such as coding documents to distribute funds; preparing accounts payable and accounts receivable documents; using computer spreadsheets to record, track, manipulate and report data; balancing accounts; and identifying and applying established financial recordkeeping procedures; OR one year of experience as an Accounting Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Experience Requirements: Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word in a business setting.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
