Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Installs and maintains the ERP modules including major software releases, sub-releases, and bug fixes. Support of the Oracle database and tools, tuning, security, backups, optimization of the database and providing senior technical leadership to assist with complex programming tasks. Assures the timely and accurate production of required reports for Federal, State and other external agencies. Develops and provides detailed proposals for changes in programs, routines, and quality control standards to improve efficiency. Works with the University community to plan modifications and/or enhancements to the ERP to improve reporting and managerial capabilities. Develops and enforces application programming standards. Trains local and remote staff. Bachelor's degree in MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent is required. 5 years of experience with an ERP or similar application platform is required. Working knowledge of Banner module architecture, Oracle Database Administration, SQL, and a general understanding of institutional support processes. Able to work on different modules of the Banner Student Information System including Student, Financial Aid, Academic History, and Admissions & Recruiting. An in-depth knowledge of Oracle10g or 11g. Able to mentor and train technical staff in a Banner ERP platform preferred. Must be able to effectively guide/lead others in the successful completion of the tasks noted above. Must possess the capability to work with minimal supervision. Well-developed analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to present recommendations in an effective manner; demonstrate subtlety and tact in resolving interpersonal issues; and demonstrate patience and meticulousness in the development of implementation plans, strategies and priorities. Must be highly motivated and energetic with strong people skills. Must be willing to learn new technologies. Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree in computer science or related field. Experience with Unix/Linux/HP-UX operating systems Experience with Banner Student Information System, WebFocus, AppWorx, DegreeWorks, Banner WorkFlow. Able to mentor and train technical staff in a Banner ERP platform preferred.
