Highland Community College, a vibrant community college in the northwest corner of Illinois, within driving distance of Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin is a seeking a full-time, tenure track Speech Communication instructor to begin Fall semester 2013. This position will teach fifteen credit hours each fall and spring semester. Summer teaching may be available. The successful candidate will teach college-level speech classes, primarily the introductory speech course. Experience or interest in teaching courses in Intercultural Communication, Broadcasting, Mass Communication, and/or other courses within the communication field is preferred. Responsibilities of the position include curriculum development, assessment of student learning and other related curricular responsibilities. Experience in coaching and/or directing Forensics activities preferred. Master's degree in speech or oral communication is required. Successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred, ideally in a community college setting. Excellent communication skills and experience in online delivery modes essential.
