Placement Exams Predict College Success
Access into college-level courses at community colleges are far from guaranteed. A vast majority of two-year institutions administer high-stakes exams to entering students that can determine their placement into either college-level or remedial education. This article analyzes the predictive validity of one of the most commonly used assessments on over 4200 first time entrants to a large, urban community college system.
